I'd go with the Suzuki too. Cracking little motor - more entertaining than an MX5 I'd say due to the dinky size and triple cylinder bark. Turbo'd and intercooled and only 660cc!
Lots of grey imports though - not a bad thing as they tend to be cheaper than genuine UK cars. They can really rot though!

mk1 MR2 FTW You could buy 5 for that amount of cash, and hold your own mini race series. Renimation's MR2 is awesome - it feels incredibly well put together despite the 100,000+miles - gearchange, steering etc really solid and as new. I had a go the other weekend and it left me with a huge grin and lust to buy one myself. Buy one with sorted bodywork, and get to work every morning with no hassles and a smile on your face Matt

For that money I'd get a really mint MR2 MK1 normal sort. Or maybe a Supercharger one in rough condition!

Finding one with mint body wont be easy though, and they do have fiddly things that go wrong, but once youve cracked these, you are sorted. you could easily spend your budget getting a 'mint' one. Mk2s are worth a look, more powerful but more lardy, more of a tourer i hear. Mines a good laugh and proved quite reliable now i have fixed most of the weakest links.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

MK1 MR2 or an MX5 for that money. I know two people who bought Eunos roadsters for not much more than that and they have been amazingly reliable given that they are 15/16 years old.
