Here for sale we have my beloved Recovery truck, it is a 1996 Ford Transit with the bulletproof 2.5 diesel 'Banana' engine
the truck has just over 11M MOT and 5M tax, for the MOT i fitted new disks and pads, o/s track rod end, brand new handbrake cables, rear shoes and drum fitting kit, while i was doing this i changed the oil and flushed the PAS fluid. last year i cleaned out the EGR valve and cleaned out the inlet manifold to keep it running perfectly, over winter i fitted a new battery and it never let me down or refused to start!
the tyres are all fairly new and have masses of tread left, as said all the brakes are new and the truck is ready for work, this truck will take you anywhere, i have recently done a trip from Lincoln to Glasgow, on to Ipswich and back to Lincoln in one day and it was faultless and averaged 34mpg
the bed on the truck is over 16 feet long and is aluminium framed with 18mm marine ply board so is fairly lightweight yet can carry quite heavy loads
the truck is fitted with a high powered winch with wireless remote and wander lead, 2x work lights and a flashing beacon
in the past the truck has had new wings, arches and sills and is still very solid, there were no advisories on the MOT and the paintwork is still quite good, it is not perfect and there are some rust scabs but its not a rotten old transit and has years of work left in it
i am only selling because i now have very little use for the truck and cannot justify keeping it if it isnt being used, however i am in no rush to sell so will not accept any silly offers
