I've seen this Toyota in an abandoned showroom a few times, I thgought you lot would liike to see it. Its been resprayed but the metalwork looks super-original. Its in lovely condition, just a bit dusty. I think this was a showroom of a J-brand, perhaps Mitsubishi, who must have moved to a new showroom. This one is now full of piled-up junk, plus this Corona. When I was looking I spied another old car at the back, again very dusty and with flat tyres; [glow=red,2,300]ITS ONLY A FREAKIN TOYOTA 2000 GT!!!!![/glow] Unbelievable!!!!

Whoa - find of the year...... possibly century. To abandon the Corona is a crime but a 2000GT??? Is it a windup? Did they ever make a kit car copy... Prices - a few quoted in this recent TEC article - clickyStunned

Incredible...surely there's a story behind it somewhere, no-one would just abandon those.....more investigation required methinks.
Have had a quick look....apparently the site's earmarked for a housing development, planning application was made in June 2004, and an archaeological survey was carried out for David Wilson Homes in July 2005.
Last filed company accounts 31-1-2006
Probably worth contacting East Northants Council, the notice on the window means they've almost certainly moved and not closed, but may have changed their name.

Until recently I had it in my head that 2000gt's were only a couple of grand! I've no idea where I got that idea from but it went out of the window when I got a bit interested in buying one!

That's been there for quite a long time now. The place used to be a Daihatsu dealership. They had a 90's Levin and a Chaser for sale on the forecourt a while back but when I last passed there they'd gone. The Toyota pickup round the back is ace... wish I'd got a pic of it. It a US spec one with a V6

He wont sell it, i brought my first starlet from there before they dealt in daihatsu they were toyota dealers for years and years they used to do some rallying with a crolla and a gt4. I believe your right that the guy that ownes them lives next door to the old showroom really nice chap when i delt with him.

I'm sure i've been to that garage a couple of years ago on theway to a wedding.....we stopped for fuel and i got big wood when i went to pay and saw that old j tin in the showroom. The guy reckoned 100K for the 2000gt and he had a rally prepped ta22 in the back. A really nice guy too.

100k for the 2000GT easily. Single handedly the most expensive old Japanese car, ever. Whether they're worth that is debatable but I'd certainly still absolutely adore one!
