Hi there, here for sale is my daily hack. My use for it has come to an end so now its someone elses turn. I have tried to list everything and anything you may want to know but if I have missed anything please ask.
Tax until 04/13
MOT until 12/12
146k on the clock
Engine & Transmission
Engine runs very well, returning 50mpg (town) to 60mpg (motorway) day in day out.
Engine uses next to no oil. In 6k or so I've maybe put in 1/3 litre or so? Very surprising for such an old lump
No nasty noises from the engine (well aside from it being a diesel aha) and I serviced it 6k ago, so probably want some fresh oil in 4k.
Engine has had fuel pump adjustments and boost level adjustments made. Approx 110bhp. Goes okay actually.
PAS fluid was also flushed and changed, PAS is now light and silent.
Gearbox & Clutch work perfectly. Clutch bites smoothly, lightly and dead in the middle. Never even hinted at slipping so no worries there.
Chassis & Body
Chassis is straight, no rust to speak of on sills or anything like that.
Body is straight as well, as you'll see in the pictures below there is really quite minor surface rust on the edge of the rear doors/archers. However this is mearly surfice and will tidy up just fine if you are bothered, if not knowing VW's of this age it will probably last another 5 years before rusting out.
Paint work is in good order, very glossy for such an old white car with lots of reflection. Very few swirl marks as I gave it a quick mop 6k ago.
A few chips of paint missing from the front end, however they are small and do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.
Car also has aftermarket sunroof fitted, please see pictures. The rails need greasing if you plan to utilize the 1" it opens
Running Gear
Lowered on some weird suspension I don't recognise. Rides firmly but all the gaiters, ball joins, bushes are in good order and will pass its next MOT no worries.
Wheels have medium kerbing on most of them so could do with touching up again.
Wheels are OZs, never seen a set of them before so pretty damn cool if you ask me!
Also I have had to slap on some new tyres for the new owner as the previous fronts got to cords, so just for now I put on some cheap balloon 175/65s they actually fill the arch better than the rears (195/50) but I must admit the car looks a little odd miss matched as it is currently.
Brakes are all circa 50% worn so a few miles left in them yet.
Interior
The interior is very tidy, I spent a lot of my hard earned pennies on a rather fetching (and rare) interior from what I assume was a Cordoba SX? Anyway half leather and green, looks fab as you'll see in the pictures.
Also got a nice Momo steering wheel, the horn button is not genuine but the wheel is. Brought by a neighbour very many moons ago I've been led to believe.
Electrics
All work as they should.
Car has a nice alarm that integrates in to the central locking via remote.
Also car has been fitted with FLI speakers, I am also able to supply a basic cd-radio with the car if the new owners wants, or you can just have a hole so you can fit your own equipment.
Important "Bad points"
Only 1, the car will not pass its next MOT (provided its done to the letter, obviously ignore if your MOT tester is blind ) as it has a blow from the centre section of the exhaust. However I have had the exhaust apart to delete the center box previously so fitting of a new one should take minutes, its so easy on these. This will cost you:
£17 for a straight through pipe

or
£25 for a silencer

I think that is everything, just as a final word I think the add sounds a little negative but its mearly to be as honest as possible. Overall its a good solid cordoba and will be a fab car for someone.
