Ok, I have just sold my Landrover and need a retro pickup in my life!
After a bit of pub talk and general bumming around the Internet have come up with three suspects, any other ideas or experiences of the trio let me know....
1. Subaru Brat, had a tamiya remote control one as a kid! 2. Peugeot 504 3. VW Caddy
Just need it for weekend stuff like carrying bikes, logs and doing dump runs!
What other motors are out their???

You could always 'minitruck' any 80's-early '90s Japanese pick up.

first 2 that came into my head nissan D21 - one of the lowrider gods ;D (but here's a fairly standard one to use as a blank canvas) or if you want to be different (and can find one) there's the trusty old steed, the hyundai pony would love to see one of these given some attention. of course if you want older then there's always an old datsun.

Tip runs are a nightmare in a commercial vehicle, they will automatically assume whatever you take is commercial waste unless you have a special license from the council, even with that anything resulting from DIY is still banned so you'll have to pay per load at the local waste transfer station....even stones from the garden are a no no at our local dump if I take them in the van.
Still a 504 pickup is about indestructable the only trick is to find one thats still in this country

This does those jobs for me... SIMCA-Talbot 1100 pickup. That's when it's not off the road having the rust dealt with...the problem that's seen off 99.9% of the others that came to the UK. mick
