Just testing the water on here at the minute to see if there's any interest in my MGF as I'm going to start advertising it all over come next week as I'm still yet to finish off fitting the new roof which I shall be doing on Saturday.
Anyway, some details:
It's a 1996 P-Reg MGF 1.8i
British Racing Green
68,000 Miles
MOT Until next May
Tax Until end of January
No advisory items on the MOT. Well, actually there was one regarding a ball joint, but it's since had a new pair of ball joints fitted.
Fitted with Land Rover multi-layer steel headgasket, with uprated head bolts, shims, steel dowels etc.
Always starts first turn of the key, runs and drives superbly, steering is lovely and precise, gearchange is slick and tight, feels like new on the road and handles like a dream. Engine is very nippy, pulls superbly.
Bodywork is excellent, especially for it's age. There's the odd very minor blemish, but no rust on the bodywork at all. The BRG paint really polishes up beautifully.
Very pretty car in my opinion, much more pure looking than the later ones with too many additions.
Wheels are in very good condition, only one has minor kerbing, but they clean up great.
Just in the process of fitting a brand new new black mohair hood and clear plastic rear screen. It's a quality hood, not a cheap one and it's much nicer on the inside than the original, the inside is nicely trimmed in black and looks great.
The interior is in very good condition and beautifully clean and tidy. No wear to the seats to speak of at all. I've removed the seats a couple of times to vacuum out the interior properly and shampoo the carpets. On hot, sunny days with the roof down it does tend to get a little dusty, so like to keep it clean. I've also fitted new quality leather gear and handbrake gaiters as the old nasty ones tend to peel and look naff.
The car has never missed a beat, very well looked after and a very cheap and economical summer fun car, which with its new roof could happily be used throughout winter too if desired.
I've always kept the car indoors, never left it outside overnight.
Comes equipped with original MG Rover Panasonic stereo with CD multichanger. Just fitted a brand new Bosch battery with 4 year guarantee, two new tyres on the rear and the fronts haven't covered many miles either.
The car wants for nothing and surely one of the best early MGF's out there. Certainly for less than a grand anyway.
I'm looking for £900. I wouldn't take any less than that as it's cheap as anything to run, and eligible for classic insurance, so would rather keep it for next summer than give it away, but I've got too many ongoing projects at the moment and would rather free up the space and funds for those and see it getting used and loved by an enthusiast.
I will add photos when the hood is finished, but any potential interest, please let me know.
Cheers
Mike
