All this lack of internet access means i've had to go down the workshop to escape the missus and actually get something done. I was really looking forward to spending new years day sat on my with a beer in my hand, instead i froze my of with a spanner stuck to my hand. Did this though. If you look on the left thats the EDIS module and coil pack fitted. I suppose you like my high tech coil bracket ;D If you look closley theres a trigger wheel and pick up in there. No room for empty fag packets and tins of barley sugar in the glove box anymore. I've just got home from the workshop after my first attempt at mapping it and i'm well impressed with the difference. Before i could get the back out in the wet easy enough, now i can do it in the dry too ;D Its still got a few flat spots to iron out then i'll think about fitting injection too, just for the fun of it

So long Dizzy and points I may do this to my pinto at some point but I think I want to learn to weld and return it to a Vauxhall engine.

nice one - Ive got a similar set up planned (for a very similar car lol, love your interior!) Including kent RL32 cam, efi manifold, BMW injectors, EDIS coil pack etc...running sierra dis and motorcraft ecu at the mo until I find a suitable mappable ecu/icu to complete the set... what make is yours? looks custom rather than adapted (ie off another car) built from plans or kit?

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Its a megasquirt, diy build it yourself kit thingy that stands me in about £200 for the whole lot. You can buy them ready built for a few pennys more these days bearing in mind i've had mine kicking about for a few years. It'll fit on any car you want but you do need to take time out to learn all the ins and outs of it. I probably spent about a year on and off just reading through all the info on the website before i even lifted a soldering iron.

Awesome stuff! Something I want to do with the Rover at some point as well as ditch the hotwire injection although that may require some more thinking about. Looks great, sounds like it's made a nice difference too!

Good work! I take it that's part of the Megasquirt Squirt n Spark set-up? I didn't know you could run the leccy ignition bit on its own, without all the injection gubbins too, smart!
When I saw the thread title I thought it was gonna be something like "I blew a 10A fuse so decided to hoy out the engine and fit Cosworth 4x4 running gear before having me tea" ;D

A fellow squirter... missus... Got all my gear lined up for when (if?) I ever get my Imp back. A full race Imp on throttle bodies has gotta be worth a few laughs. Bring it on! Just got to learn to weld and make a fanimold first... "I'm"
