I'm planning on running the fiesta crank trigger ignition system to my pinto and theres no provision for a temperature sensor except in the water jacket on the exhaust side but it's wrong thread size. What my question is can I use a temp sensor from another car that is the correct thread or should I get an adaptor made up.
I know fitting this ignition system isn't ideal but what I'm trying to achieve is a turn key classic which will return 30+ MPG on a budget

Why not use something like this that fits in top hose - If correct thread not available then you can always buy one smaller sized and have it drilled out / recut. Paul H

I think you need to use the correct sender for the ignition unit.
There a many different calibrations for senders, and without testing a load of different ones, you would be lucky to find another that gives the correct resistance for the ESC unit.
Possibly the Ford family do use similar calibrated sensors across the range but it would be a guess without testing.

Paul H Or make your own, bit of 40mm pipe, lip welded around, to stop the hoses coming off, bit of 20mm round 10 mm thick, drilled and tapped to suit you sender!
