have you had a 'run in' with that guy? No, I've just had the misfortune of working with him for the last 3 and a half years. He's on here as 'Jabbo'

mx5 style boot racks don't fit mk1 or 2 escorts - ive got one - they need to be loinger and narrower.
roofracks? oldskool escorts? whatever give you that daft idea? ;D
edit: if you want to confuse and upset just about every run of the mill ford boy then buy one - its easily the most 'least got' mod on my beige one ;D ;D

hmmm, tempting but I'm buying a raleigh chopper and a bike rack for the back ;D. I'm liking seventynines' 'cafe racer' mk2 on here I want that sort of feel, low, stiff, stripped, caged, warm'd over 1600, clean straight body and period accessories.

It just a guess on my part, but it looks like it'd fit OK to me. as for the 'roof racks are old hat' argument, it's hardly a common sight at Ford shows is it? Even if it was, I like the 'racked look anyway. ;D

I've often seen this quoted, but always assumed it was an urban myth.
I know a few motorsport organistions do (or did) require race numbers to be covered up between stages and the like, but I'm not sure the plod would be interested....would they?
I just can't think of one valid reason that they'd be illegal. Is it a specific law or just some general 'no racing on the Queens highway' law that his somehow used?
Plenty of Herbie relpica's about, and I may have dreamed it but I'm sure you can get new Mini's with race numbers on.
The only thing that would worry me is insurance. We all know they can look for any excuse not to pay out and I suppose they could say race numbers are proof it had been used in motorsport, which is usually specified as a a no-no on the policy. But as long as you declare it as a mod - no problem I guess.
Sorry for the thread jack.
Nice roof rack BTW
