I would just like to thank everyone for the nominations and votes, there are going to be some awsome cars out next year that have been a real inspiration for the imp build. Namely RatLooks kitten with the fiat engine, Dom's blown kadett, Nitemares van, and Keefys beetle. I hope the imp lives up to the expectations its certainly geeing me on to complete the damn thing (if you can complete a retro car?). The past two days have been spent in the garage trying to solder the loom together, its so cold that the iron isnt getting hot enough! Still its nearly there, once the loom is in i think I'm going to plug in the ECU to check that side of things, then its a little bit of machining some pipes and a little jiggery pokery, and we might have it running. Ill be sure to film it I'm itching to get to the show season and see some of these new cars in the flesh!! Thanks again guys J

I hate to speak out of turn, being a relative newcomer to this forum, but I think EVERYONE deserves a pat on the back at the very least.... I don't think I've ever come across such a diverse but friendly bunch of petrol (and diesel) heads in all my days. This place has really opened my eyes to what's possible, achieveable and above all fun no matter how limited your budget and/or skills may be (limited in both instances in my case). I think everyone here recognises the sterling work that the moderators put in to make sure everything's hunky dory, but at the end of the day any forum is only as good as the people that post on it.....and this place is damned fine.
(Mass outbreak of high-fives and hugging)
I can't wait to see what 2007's gonna bring.
Brian :-)

Thanks HotWire, for doing a great job.
And well done to all award winners, nominees, and everyone else! If it weren't for the encouragement and inspiration provided by everyone here, I probably wouldn't be where I am today - ie getting cold and wet messing about with a 23 year old Ford!

What a bunch of t0ssers.....yeah, the bl00dy lot of you! ;D Only joking...you guys/girls have given me many hours of inspiration, advise, and generally been among the most friendly people I know. :)Retro-Rides has changed me from being a blinkered Skoda enthusiast into a Skoda enthusiast that sees good and potential in just about any car or person at all. Hence my adding Wigs to my MSN list and persuading him that we are a good bunch of people after all. I'm happy to include him in that same bunch now and very happy to see him posting about his Peugeot. Thank you all so very much for welcoming me and making me a better person......yeah..the bl00dy lot of you!

Good work everyone, Its still astounds me that a big team like members at retro rides, make such a great team, really it does. specially when you consider the struggles of having just a partner LOL! Fantastic work we all sort of come from similar places (mindset) with the same enthusiasm, yet still do our own things when not sidetracked and thats what makes it work so well. W00T Happy to see the winners. Blownimps marathon fabing work surely deserved the win. Along with slaters super-supermini fleet mission and banding wheels write up. And the rest of the winners and nominees, and non nominees. thanks for keeping us entertained. I know I'm inspired for 2007 now v much so. just need a plan!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
