I assume that he's going to set the engine back to the firewall and then chop the front of the chassis off level with the front axle. If he does that and gets the grille shell right, then it could be a real looker. I'd love to see it finished. ^ These things, my first thought was - what the hell is that? But I actually think it has a lot of potential. Like someone else said, post-apocalyptic Porsche is a cool idea ;D

What a massive waste of a nice car.....Why? Where's the nice car? Unless I've missed the build thread where he starts with an immaculate pick up and a low-mileage 911, I'm assuming he's merely using stuff that others might consider scrap?

hardly a waste of a nice car. there is barely any porsche on that machine. it is a dually rat rod with a porsche shell from a scrapped 911 fitted on top. there are no other porsche parts on it. it has a truck chassis. truck axles. truck wheels. a diesel engine. its not like he wrecked a 911 to do this. the chassis, wheels engine etc is just the shell. kind of like how they build a monster truck and set a normal pickup shell on top.
removing a set of rear wheels would look curse word.

Hmmm it's very near perfect in my eyes, it just needs the classic 911 headlights for a full 10/10.

I quite like the twin wheels on that, reminds me of the old auto union racing cars of the 30's

Comments on FB suggested that the grill will be a large version of the Porsche shield logo, which I've pictured in my minds eye bent into the same form as a '34 Ford grill.

post-apocalyptic Stuttgart baha bug. You should trademark that. They're going to be huge in 2013.

Yeah that Porsche should never have messed around with VW Beetles trying to create something new- he probably butchered several rare split or oval windows figuring out the 356 - sacrilege Let's not forget, everything has potential, even old dead Porsche bodyshells. Bt seriously, it's not like there were only three Porsche 911s produced or remaining on the roads. The bit he's used would probably be baked bean cans now but for the intervention.

Have they not just dunked the body on that chassis for a bit of a laugh? It does look ace, but youd need long arms (and no windscreen to reach the gearlever!) p.s. I had a Dodge Ram like that one in the background.....it was ace

My initial thoughts where WHAT WHY WHY WHAT WHYWHATWHAYWHY WHAT!? I want to see more of this ridiculousness.. assuming it isn't just someone dropping the body on the chassis to make people on the internet get all upset

I love it!, I must admit I'd want it with something daft in the engine department...2stroke diesel? if you are intent on annoying the purists....
