Well, I guess there are some motor bike riders on here..... Maybe some of you are on ADV Rider or even UKGSER.com I hope the mods and readers will enjoy the thread as it unfolds over the next few days, included will be a few retro car pics too. The link below is to a site called www.wilddog.za.net and is a South African Dual Sport motorcycle website. My buddy Peter and I went for a ride last week..... the ride report is in the link below. Hope you enjoy and please do comment...... this is only day one's report so far, they will be updated daily. www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=107211.0As a taster.... this was the night before. Managed to do this in front of my side gate when I got home from the dentist and shops. GRRRRRR !!! Mainly my ego that took a knock. Picked the bike up and only a small scratch on side of the crash bar. Just shows you..... it can happen anywhere.

Got a job interview over in Watford tomorrow as I a currently "between jobs" as last contract ended. Preparing for next year when I turn 50, as Nicola, my wife has insisted she wants me out the house for a bit.... so off to Africa to take a trip with my brother on his 1150GS, and me on a friends 1000GS. I have started a ride report on www.advrider.com if anyone is interested. It was originally started on www.wilddog.za.net but I think for an international, alll access this willl be the better place to keep the main RR. CLICKY LINKY advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=829256A bit of this.... Some of this..... And a smattering of this..... (Note the Wilddog puppy and pawprint tattoo.... could not resist it :boobies: Due to this.... And the result of too many ciders in the topbox and left pannier .... Well, there you have it..... shiit still happens.

Just made myself a cuppa and read through the tale of yours and Goose's trip and the planned SA trip next year - great stories and pictures. Bought myself a retro bike this week (well, it's 23 years old) and quite fancy doing something like your French adventure - cross the Channel with no particular destination in mind and follow whichever road looks interesting ;D
Will be watching the plans for SA with interest.

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!
