Regrettably my project cinq is for sale
I've rebuilt this car over the past year on a donor 899 shell which is identical other than the fuel filler. Its almost through an MOT but not quite. Was aiming to take it to the gathering but failed at MOT station. I've had good times in 3 cinq sportings but its now time to move on for me. Hope the car can put a smile on somebody's face...
Really just needs finishing off. Loads of juicy bits fitted that I've collected over the years Including:
- Full dealer abarth kit - bar rear spoiler
- 1242 punto 60 engine, 886 Cam (requires clearances improving - spare shims included) with Sporting gearbox and shifter. Its about 65bhp which was enough for me.
- Dealer Momo wheel
- EBC Ultimax front pads
- Punto 32mm throttle body
- Lowered 40mm with shocks about 2/3 years old, Bilstein rears KYB fronts.
- Nearly new clutch, cambelt, waterpump all with less than 1000 miles on them.
Advantages of the 899 shell - manual windows no central locking = slightly lighter car. The paint is Satin nato which was applied with a roller, looks acceptable but could be improved. lots of Paint left. Full sporting interior fitted, red belts and nice supportive seats.
Exhaust is okay - removed centre box
Points needing attention:
-Wheels in photos not included - its on 899 steels, 3 tired sporting alloys thrown in.
-Ball joint gaitor split - replacement wishbone included
-Small amount of welding required to rear of cills on both sides
-Headlight aim out
-Loose Steering Column - needs some ingenuity to fit correctly.
-Speedo cable needs replacement
I think it could all be sorted in a day! Not much to do at all for the MOT.
It might be prudent to get it inspected following the re-shell. V5 shows 1108 and requires a colour change.
