I've been off here for a few weeks due to moving house and not having any internet but i've managed to connect the comp up to my mobile and although its probably costing me an arm and a leg its still good to back ;D A few things to report. First off, this turned up in my workshop the other week thanks to a certain mr popuptoaster. 5.0 merc V8, chuffing massive it is too. I was thinking of stuffing it in the cortina but after a bit of measuring some serious bulkhead cutting is gonna be needed. Heres a pic of it next to the escort so you can appreciate just how huge it really is. The second interesting thing to happen lately was coming back from the Beds meet up the other night. I noticed that the back end of the cortina was getting a bit twitchy and was starting to step out whenever i accelerated. It started getting a bit scary so i took it easy untill i got home and had a look underneath. Boy was my face red. Piece of advice, when making s I'd exit exhaust be sure to keep the outlet well away from anything combustable. Mine poked out just behind the rear trailing arm bush and after 3 hours up and down the A1 the heat had reduced my polybush to black bubblegum, hence the waggly axle. I havent got time to get a new bush before christmas and i need the car as soon as, so i'm hoping to get it sorted tomorrow by adapting some old bushes that i've got kicking around the workshop, I'll let you know if it works or not ;D

Good heads up man! I was going to hack off the end of my exhaust to stop rubbage. Think I'll have to do it just behind the downpipe, if there's a exhaust mount up there somewhere.
Cool to see you at the meet - heroic trek to get there/back btw.
p.s. that V8 is fugging massive!

Good to know you all missed me then ;D ;D Well i managed to get the bushes in the tina sorted out today, found one that was only slightly too big and after a few minutes with the grinder it went in a treat. Heres what was left of the old one. Also today i finally got around to taking the merc down to the workshop so i can do the silly little bits for the mot. As predicted, after fifteen minutes behind the wheel i've completely changed my mind about selling it again and am thinking about repairing the damage on the back and spraying the bottom half satin black and leaving the roof gold. Oh well, another month, another plan. ;D As for that merc V8, it might find its way into the merc but to be honest everyone would expect that. I'm still really into the idea of putting in the tina, preferably with a supercharger but its definatly a long term plan and the way i change my mind anything could happen between now and then ;D
