So this sort of started out as me daydreaming about building a hot-rod on a FX4 chassis, just because they're readily available, fairly inexpensive and plus you could even have some fun with it before you tear it to pieces. While doing some googling I started to warm to the idea of 'taxis that don't looks like taxis' anymore, however there's not a huge amount of modded FX4 taxis out there so it's pretty much developed into a thread with all of the modifed taxis on the interwebs! So sit back and enjoy some obscurity on me ;D
Firstly some pickups:
No other info on this one, found here at RR:
This one used to belong to psycho83 of this parish, have PM'd him but all of his pictures are dead in his old threads:
(Love the American inspired grilles on these two, like mini budget Chevy pickups!)
Scraping the barrel a little with this one, but a very rough looking traveller wagon:
Now this one is a rather awesome project I found on RnS, don't be too alarmed I believe it's a rolling project and has a lot of potential I think! Proper hot rod on a budget:
Ongoing build thead here
Another one just using the chassis and running gear, found on RnS here and apparently still running the diesel engine:
Which brings me neatly onto using a FX4 chassis for a full blown hot-rod - something I've had in the back of my mind for quite some time. Unfortunately just a pic but built by the owner of the primered WIP pickup and the chopt cab is this:
And would be rude not to post some pics of the chopt cab, which is relatively easy to find pictures on the internet of:
(Many more available on google images)
Then we have the rather awesome idea of turning them into vans, so one in a lufferly shade of pink with a roof chop:
Another one, unfortunately just a model so just the one pic and a link to the 'build thread'
Now randomly, a drop top!
Finally, just for completeness, some that still vaguely resemble taxis. I'm not a huge fan of these ones but they're included for the sake of completeness. Firstly this 'interesting' chop:
One flamed up:
From rat-look.com, lots of interesting ideas in this thread
And a photoshop from that same thread, which has potential!
Bit of a monster I believe, still masquerading as a taxi. Unfortunately I've lost any info I had on this one:
Then a monster one, why not!
That's it! If anyone can actually find any more pictures of modified taxis, then I applaud you! If you do, feel free to post them in here ;D
