it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

. . . . three wheeled cars... I have always considered those "moped cars" meaning, what people who are old and cant drive get from the government I'm not quite sure why people bought 3 wheelers, i know in later years they were similar price to new Fiestas and looked like em. Bikers were known to use em as winter transport on a bike licence, not sure that works anymore though, as for luring old people to buy em i dunno, suppose it don't matter if ya gonne drive slow. The other benefit is arguably cheaper tyres, light vehicle, small tyres and only 3 of em, and good economy. I really do bloody love em, must get one before the banger racers finish em all off, must be a rialto or older. these things were for 'invalids' usually in blue, always loked wierd and now illeagal for some reason IIRC www.virtualgaz.com/invacarpage.htm

Theres a guy round me hacked the roof off his and drives it about in the summer. I also remember seeing pics on the net of a guy who had a fleet and they were all painted in railway locomotive liveries.

ive got a regal to add to my fleet of reliants which is going to stay as a three wheeler but with no roof and a 89 zx10 bike engine in the front, should be just over 400kg so getting on for 300bhp toone!! / id love to find an invacar and do the same to it but even if you fund one you cant put them back on the road as dvla wont allow registration perhaps you could be sneaky and put a robin vin and plates on it but i havent seen an invacar for years

Did you check out the vid where he rolls it?! Alarming! I think these are the crazy people who drove loads of Reliants to some meeting in Eastern Europe (I think) and got their explots published in Practical Classics.

I've driven and worked on several of these cars. Trust me they are bl00dy awful, though TBH that makes me love them all the more! I'm amazed at how quick they are in a straight line, though probably feel faster than they actually are! Love those videos....there sure are some headcases out there! ;D

I really like the Robin but it's the wrong way around. Surely you must have the two wheels at the front to avoid falling over like that Starsky one?!
So, my plan is to get a Robin and muck about with it so I can drive it backwards. Tune it up and bit and then look at people's faces as they get overtaken by a Robin on the motorway - going backwards!
Wonder if you could force a Mini subframe into the back end - that'd do it. Oh, might want to lock the original steering! Would be handy for parking though...

thats been done already its called the nibor and has a mini subframe in the back facing the wrong way so you appear to be driving the car backwards everywhere ;D
