Adding to what I said before, I think anything that promotes awareness of older/retro cars as being either interesting or impressive must be encouraged. There are few enough of us already...

No, Granzilla wasn't a Mr Saunders project, still v. cool though! Yep, Granzilla was a bloke by the name of Malcolm Darlow I think and is probably one of my all time favorites. What happened to it in the end?

I have to admit, I prefer the car stock However, some of the custom 50s american cars up there are beautiful! The shorty mini is brilliant too

that is a quick turn around, timewise. and its a complete transformation, not just some paint and stickerz. wish him all the best in his tv ventures. can't help thinking that 2 hours spent anchor waxing the patina, followed by some judicious slammage and some tasty rims (empi 5's or starsharks) would have been time better spent . would've given time to relax and have a cuppa anyway, lol! but then that wouldn't make good tv I supppose

I'd quite like to see something that wasn't against a really tight time limit or a "suprise" modification for someone.
Someone spending a good 3 - 4 weeks in order to build something for a show might be nice.. so you've got the deadline pressure, but time to really show off the craftsman's art. Preferably without a deplorable excess of personalities in the workshop.

One of the few Discovery commissioned car programmes, unfortunately the middle ground is a bit harder to achieve on realistic budgets unless you go terrestrial. The programme Bangla Bangers that was on a couple of months ago would be similar to what your thinking, but that was produced outside the UK as a one-off, and had a budget to suit.

RATDAT is the car in ur sig ur road motor?> <-- what this one? It will be next summer Regarding TV shows... I think the time limit format is part and parcel of appealing to Joe Public as well as car enthusiasts. They'll often show little of the actual technical build up of a car because to the majority it's just not interesting or relevant. I don't think the audience would be big enough to warrent a car construction program if they only did it for enthusiasts.
