Argh the Imp Club website is down again, apparently some little *expleative* has hacked it again. Bring back public hanging etc etc etc
So, please excuse me retro-rides as i use the forum as a temporary Imp technical help desk ;D
Calling Impers!
Just replaced my throttle cable after the old one at the carb end had become frayed and lose and the clip/tab/thingy that the cable goes into and connects the cable to the carb had been over tightened at the nut and bolt that goes through this clip/tab/thingy and thus stuck with likely stripped threads.
The new cable is now through and connected at the driver end and i have a new clip/tab/thingy and its nut and bolt. However, how is this tab thingy built? I appear to have about 4 washers of different sizes and thickesses and don't know in what order they should go in with the bolt through the 'tab'.
Odviously the cable goes through the 'tab's' .... 'mouth/spouty bit (isnt this great ;D ) and theres a hole through the bolt which i presueme the cable also goes through, but with the cable through both with the different washers there dosent seem to be enough bolt left to tighten the nut onto, nor does the 'tab' move as i believe it should be able to.
Are you then supposed to crimp the 'mouth/spout'? I'm just scared of over tightening the nut again.
So, can anybody with the knowledge make head or tail of the above babble and help me? If anybody could grab a picture of their cable-carb linkage it might be just as helpful ;D
Thanks,
Graham
