	For reasons which will eventually become clear, I feel the need to create an appreciation thread for coolest Golf - the mk2 Feel free to add your own stunners... I particularly like the black mk2's, but then I may be a little biased... ;D

	Mk2 was always my favorite, although back then compared to the mk1 it was too big, and I never like the way the front wings tapered in compared to the mk1. Better built, easier to work on and rust doesn't happen like the mk1. 16v too heavy up front and not as much fun as the 8. One of the few cars where a 4 door looks as good as a two.

	I've had 20+ mk2s in all forms, 8v, 16v, 2doors, 4doors, jettas, panel vans and loved them all. IMO the best all round car of last century. My favourite was my oak green jreg with grey leather 16v. 4000 revs onwards they sound awesome!! Surprises me how little money they make compared to mk1s. Each time I sell one I worry the price will go through the roof over night and it will be the last I own. Hopefully il have some more yet though. Here's a few of my old friends, gone but not forgotten!!

	The VW lads going up the hill at the Gathering have rekindled my love for Golfs. Too many of them have been built with killer engines/transplants then do nothing more than get polished to death on a showfield. Was nice to see them doing a bit of hooning, reminded me how capable they are. Next time I'm at my mums I'll try and dig photos of my old 8v GTi out. Was a shitter but awesome. Tempted to buy one as a family runabout.
