Funny, but it's the stuff in the background that's more interesting now. Most of the cars in the foreground went on to be featured in CC in one way or another. There were some cars I didn't photograph but wish I had- a blown '56 Chevy in black primer on American Racing 5 spokes stands out in my memory, an early 60's Mopar lowrider slammed on chrome 5 spokes, and a proper 'T' on Yank plates whose driver was in the USAF- never saw any of 'em again.

The Capri brings back the most memories for me, teetering on that jack-up kit!!
What we sometimes forget when we lambast today's Barrys in their Saxo's is that back then cars like that Capri were the max-d up motors of that generation. I remember Redditch's first (and only) Cruise night in 1977...my 13th birthday.....there were maybe 20 show-quality motors there, the rest were jacked-up Mk2 Cortinas and Consuls wheelspinning out of the car park and back in again (not that I'm condemning that, I loved it).
King of the streets back then in Redditch was a D-plated Mk4 Zodiac in red with Starsky and Hutch stripe, sidepipes, massively jacked rear (dunno how he did that, Zodiacs had IRS and coils) and Pos-a-Traction Torque Twisters on 10x15 banded steels. with that big V6 bellowing away you could hear him coming for miles!

The Anglia van with flames looks like Disco Trucker to me and the Pop on wire mags looks like Pubble Jumper. Might be wrong though!
Chelsea's still going though - pretty good actually

Stripped awaiting iminant rebuild, The chrome was pretty grotty so some of it is now black along with the chassis (the silver metalflake was chipped to curse word) and the screen is half the size, but it's all there and will be going back together shortly as my parents want the space, I'ts going to be sold this summer hopefully. First I've got to find some new calipers and master cylinder as the old ones are now scrap but when I rebuild it I'm going to try and keep as much of it as close as origional as possible, I did have plans to change it a lot but as 70's stuff is now coming back I'll pass it on to somebody who likes it as is.
