Hi guys, bought my car a few weeks back and it has had new rear arches welded in been fillered and primered so nice and smooth, apart from who ever has primered it has masked it off from the rest of the body work so there is a ridge from my paint work to the primer, I am usually ok at painting things but how can I blend in my new paint? Heres a piccy, not sure if you can see it very well though Also is this a sticker or paint? Under the plastic door lines, just wondering if I can peal it off or do I need to paint it? Just because the passengers wing part is very faded!

thats a fade in from your faded front bumper... I'd get the front bumper back in black then rattle can that lower section in black to kill the fade. As for the arch the only real way to do it is sand it out and then when its smooth repaint it.

Flat the ridge back with some 800 wet and dry and till it's smooth again, if I'm honest it doesn't look a great job anyway as it's starting to rot through again. I done the rear arches on my old Escort, It's best to mask up to the swage like and make sure you key the bodywork up with a grey scotchy pad. 1988 Ford Escort Mk IV wheel arch repairs by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr As for the lower part, that's where it's been painted before with a poor quailty or even the wrong colour paint, again you'd need to key it up and paint it with something else.

That the other thing, I have bought a 90 spec front bumper in the same colour as my car, and will be getting the rear bumper colour coded at some point, which leaves me thinking what do I do with the side sticker/paint things.
Trigger, I was going to go back to metal and re-primer it, just wasnt sure how to make it all nice and smooth around the edge.

good these orions are taking over!lol mercury gray is the WORST colour to ever try match, there are sooooo many shades its mad!!to get the right colour you will have to get it matched. like said, bottom half is sorta painted, there is colour under it, but you will never get it off properly to see it, I like the gray bottom halfs, it breaks the colour up

yeah mine has pepper pots and spot lights too haha, Mine is 1.6 EFI ghia.
Yeah I would pay to get it done but it needs doing both sides and I have no idea how much that would cost! Probably a lot, so what would you guys recommend I should do to the black strips? Paint them the same colour? Or maybe get some stickers made up to go over the paint?
