Didnt have the green c kadett very long . A mate of mine had a Golf mk1 wich he restored and rebuild and painted it in camo green . Always liked the car but then it was sold to someone some years ago. He killed the engine and my mate bought it back. It stood a year in his lock up. So last week he sold the car to me, at the moment i'm rebuilding a new engine for it. Its a nice sleeper . It has an G60 gearbox with a 1.8 20V turbo engine with stand alone managment, big Garret turbo, etc etc. Inside there's a rollcage and two bucket seats with harnesses. G60 brakes (discs front and rear). Some crappy phone pictures for now Its great to have a car wich i don't have to polish

Something tells me that will be rather quick. ;D 1.8 20V turbo is a good conversion. A mate has one in his mk1 Golf with a dyno proven 380 BHP and it is a total monster. Getting the power down on our far from smooth roads is his biggest issue despite loads of expensive chassis mods. Good luck with the MOT and the driving that follows.

Got to love a MK1 20vt, I have built a few in my time for myself and customers and they never fail to make me smile When your 20vt rips that 020 to bits get an 02A or 02J fitted in its place

I have always been worried about the 20vt conversion. The first 1.8t i drove was a 150bhp mk4 gti and i absolutly hated it. I bought a 1.8t anniversary after for my gf, which has the 180bhp version fitted, was i though was better, but still not very nice. but i just always wondered if it would ever suite a mk1/2? Just i lost count the amount of people telling me to 20vt my mk2 when i had it. I will have to try and bag a go in one oneday i suppose, and be proved wrong. Do you keep stock ecu/ remap set up on it?

When I read camo green I thought it was going to look bad to be honest... But the colour suits it very well and the job you have done is excellent

jaykay: I agree, but its not the engine its the car where the problem is. I have driven lots of golf 4 gti's and they sluggish. I once had a Ibiza cupra 20vt with a tuned engine and i loved it. The engine need to sit in a lightweight chassis ! Put it in a mk2 or mk1 you wont be disapointed ! As said before, i'm running a Kronenburg motorsport KMS fuel managment. @retrofication: The 02 can have a lot of abuse but only if you have a bolted diff instead of a rivetted. This one has a bolted LSD diff. But if it ever goes i want to go the 02A box. Reno5gtt: Thank you, to be honest i still have to get used to it, mostly i had shiney cars instead of erm... a not so shiney one

The golf just got a big brother . With the winter and bad weather comming i don't want the golf to stay on the streets so i'm going to put it in storage. I really don't want to use my Audi for the daily driver because it isnt good on gas.. (only takes 98 super and it uses it alot...). So, old jetta 1.6 diesel it is . Going to try if i can "live" with the noisy slow 1.6d other wise i have a 1.2 TDI engine from a polo 9N that i maybe going to put in. Going to make some beter pictures soon with next to the golf

I think that is fantastic! I hope it doesn't distract you from your Simca though ;D

No it doesnt . The simca is currently at the painter, and in the meanwhile were busy trying to modify the hood for the spoiler and extra air vents for the engine. This is just pure winter fun car

Fun fact.... it is already a 5 speed, but the po never swapped the gearknob... feeling stupid now almost bought a 5 speed swap. I think the 1.6d can stay in, with the smoke stop turned in it isnt that bad and it only has run 255.000 km, not much for those diesels. And it runs perfect. Took a phone picture yesterday at a local rally event. It really is a fun car to drive ! Slow noisy but still fun . Also did some work on the golf, put a original grill in it and head lights with a cross hair in it (or how do you call them over there ?). Also finished the 5x100 conversion so no adapters for the wheels and G60 brake's without adapters !! Was a head breaker but i managed it in the end. Going to put a GT28RS turbo on it in the winter, but trying to get more info about it.
