I love this car. I think you'll love this car.... I've been meaning to post it for a while but have never got round to it, it's one of the chaps on oldschool.co.nz who has bought a car with the specific intention of replicating the bosozoku/garuchan style that we all know and (some) love. As you'll see if you read from the start, he even went to the trouble of getting wheels with suitable dish made. It's still not finished but it's certainly getting there and it's freakin' awesome. oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4433Enjoy

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Other than that being a Soarer, I know what you mean, full paint, flared, crazy overdone touring car stlyes would be brilliant, except the majority of those mods, especially on the bonnet would be highly illegal over here. As it is, I'm not sure why he hasn't been killed for the exhaust and the tremendously stretched tyres.

That's awesome! Coming on really well. I didn't read much of the write-up (I'll come back to it) but looked through the pics with a grin on my face. Very cool.

I've often thought about building a fully-Bozo'd car, but I think when it comes down to it I'd end up going about as far as this guy has, although maybe with bolt on arches and definitely with a more pointy chin spoiler - his one is more MkIII Golf UK style than J-style! I love the fact that he's made his own wheels and the bent numberplate shows he's observed his subject well too!

Bosozoku : (my fave is the one with the twin exhausts coming out the grill) But this car is still great for sure.

Absolutely 'kin A! Really good to read a thread on someone doing the project from start to finish. It really shows the amount of effort involved in a project like that. Full respect

"but with the extreme offset of the 10" i don't think it will suffice for street use... "
Thats the point! ffs, the comprimises just irritate me.

He knows what he's up to, the problem being (as I mentioned previous) most the mods that are bosozoku are completely and utterly illegal, the compromises he has made are such so that he can actually USE his car on the street without receiving a few thousand dollars in fines anytime it touches the road.
Obviously, it's not a proper way out there bosozoku car, but, it is certainly a nice compromise. I think so at least.
There is a discussion thread on another part of the forum where I and a few others insisted he run the wheels he got made being he was havig some doubts for a while.
It's definately more imitation than it is replication, it's still badass and I still dig it.

Yeap. Such are the draconian modification laws we have to deal with sadly.....
Car rocks though.

Fookin ace. And a good price on custom made rims I reckon, even if they are steel Good project thread where it seems to actually progress. Very bored of threads where there owners get bored and then by a 3 year old econobox. Hotwire. Love the vid man, see what you mean about the one with exhausts out the bonnet! Any idea what the black car is at the very end of the vid? Hmmmmm wonder if you could get away with exhausts out the grille in the UK? ;D
