I bought this a to tide me over while I sorted out a few issues with my Mk2. It's been spot on while I've had it and it polishes up really well, but the mk2 is done now so I'm selling up to stop my wife moaning.
Here are the facts:
Mk3 3dr 2.0 16v in 'Twilight Violet'
MOT until 9th July 2013
Tax until end of August '12
160k miles with heaps of receipts and service history to back it up,
Black GTi cloth interior in excellent condition, no bolster wear, rips or fag burns,
Lowered on shocks and springs,
Mercedes 7 Hole Alloys with 195/45/15 tyres on adaptors;
90's tastic twin DTM back box which is actually very quiet,
Electric windows, mirrors and sunroof, everything works as it should do including the MFA.
Bad bits:
It needs a chin spoiler, it has a few scuffs and marks on the body and a tiny bit of surface rust on the trailing edge of the front wings, it would benefit from new discs as the ones on it are warped.
This has been a perfect daily for me while I've had it, does mid 30's around town and I've had just over 40 out of it on a run.
