One of those silly things I occasionally do is work out my average speed over a period of time. For the 25 hour period between 6pm Sat and 7pm tonight I was doing, on average 19.2 miles per hour.... It was a pretty cool retro-filled weekend that actually started on Friday what with Bryn pitching up in this to pick up some magazines.... Hope you got back OK matey! Then last night I drove the Herald up to Brum to visit a serial MGB (and Dalek) owning, Opel Monza driving and Austin Cambridge enthusing mate. After a curry night out with two of his Jaguar employed gearhead friends in the city we left the Monza where he'd parked it in the Beeb car park next to this Karmann.... We were up bright and early this morning to go up to Leeds in his red Monza to take a look at and eventually purchase a nice met. grey BGT. Then back to Brum (him in B, me driving an Autobahnstomer for the first time evar!) ....just in time for a cuppa before a quick tour of his shanty town garages/sheds and I returned home in the Herald tackling the M40 in the pouring rain - overtook a Citroen XM estate towing a DS on a trailer - cool combo! So around 480 miles in 25 hours - 19.2mph average including 5 hours sleep ;D

Haha, glad to have been part of your retro saga buddy.
Looks like a fine weekend indeed, I like the look of the B, although I'd have rather been where you were in the Monza.
Got back fine, albeit a tad late on. I won't comment on my average speed on the way home. But you've got to love an empty A303. ;D

So did you enjoy driving a modern car Have to say it was quite nice! Its probably the furthest I've driven in a "modern" car for a number of years. I normally find them dull but this did have somethign special about it. Funky digital dashboard refused to tell me how fast I was going in mph so I was stuck with working out the kph.... Also it's a car you really never see on the road so that adds to the special feel too. Exhaust on a hopped up straight six is always sweet too ;D

Yeah now you've said that I know exactly who you mean - the BBC car park being mentioned should have given the game away - being thick today!!
