Thats a spot and a half, these always look metallic Grey in pics, but I`ve been told in real life they`re really shiny like brand new cutlery, is this true? (never seen one in the flesh) Also the noses and back ends look darker, are they made out something different?

safe as, i was gonna post a thing about deloreans on here. they're a rather retro oddity, failed intriguing sort of car would have thought there would be more love for these on here.
btw i have serious plans of getting one of these within a year, always wanted one and will be in the position to get one soon but I'm lacking a garage. 2007/2008 ill have one bit of luck!
and yeah they look that dull like in the pics but do polish up if you use the right stuff. also i found after doing my homework that they're also not as flawed as people say.
you can also clean the body work with white spirit and brillo pads, hardcore!

So, performance is good if you tune 'er up a bit then. The one I heard at the NEC Classic Car Show made a phenomenal amount of gorgeous noise. Big bore bespoke system on it. Fantastic.
I still don't really like them but there are few cars out there even now with such "wow" factor - especially when they can be bought for not a lot of dollar.

Id love to get hold of one and slam it right onto the floor, on some deepass split-rims, rolled arches and a scaffolding exhaust. Rollcage etc etc. Oh and go Bosozoku style with the front lights

good to see them out and about. the front car here is apparently one of 2 authentic back to the future replicas in europe, thought there ought to be more than 2 wierdo's in europe ;D heres the interior- and what they did to it at the classic motor show this year - "don't take money, don't take fame"......... top spotting briandamaged!

"Not a lot of dollar? " suppose that depends on your POV. My mate got a good deal on his current one as he imported it from the USA when the dollar rate was good and he got a BTI excepmtion meaning less import duty. IIRC he paid $16,000 for it, plus hsipping, dutyy, insurance, etc. came to a little less than £12,500 landed I think. Its won a concours somewhere as well. £10K seems right for a decent basis for ruinning resto and £15K for a nice one. I personally cannot abide the back to the future clone ones. But I have a real issue with movie clone cars anyway. Another local guy has one he coughed about £7K for a few years ago and its needed a lot of work to get it mostly right. The bodywork is semi-satin brushed stainless steel like posh hi-fi fronts are. You can get them rebrushed if they get dull and manky. Its done with like a rotary brillo pad in a drill. I've seen one which was freshly dine and it looks lovely as a finish. You clean them with the same stuff you clean the sink with. Its the same grade of stainless steel that "catering equipment" is made out of. I'll try get Phill on here. He is like the world expert on these things This is his car (on my drive LOL)

I like movie clone cars - I can see how endless General Lees and Herbies are a pita at a car show but on the street amongst the Vectras and Mondeos I reckon they're pretty cool.

I don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh! I really like them, particularly because they're sort of... flawed. Or at least the company which made them was. However they are a bit too Classic & Sportscar money for my taste (and pocket), so I've never really thought about them in the same way as I think about other, affordable motors. I heard that a few owners in the States painted over the factory stainless bodywork. I think that's a shame - it's got to be the only stainless steel-bodied production car ever? (Please correct me if I'm wrong!) I personally cannot abide the back to the future clone ones. But I have a real issue with movie clone cars anyway. Me too! I think it's really un-original. Especially when they're not 100% bang-on accurate. I think if you must do that sort of thing to a car, it really has to be perfect. Another heinous crime is "Fools and Horses" style Reliants. Particularly when they're done on Robins or Rialtos. Hideous.

***DELOREAN AT CLASSIC CAR SHOW WITH DOORS CLOSED SHOCKER!*** In todays R-R we expose the truth as to why all Deloreans ever seen at gatherings of like minded car enthusuasts have the doors propped open and what happens to those that do not abide by this un-written rule, such as the unfortunate owner of the one pictured above. Turn to page 3 for more..... ;D
