whats a 4 litre tvr V8 going to cost - and what gearbox would have to be used with it in a cortina? If your going to fit a TVR V8 into a cortina the only box that is going to fit without mega money is a T5 (found in sierra cosworth, 80's ford mustangs and various TVR's). I know it wont be a direct fit, but it should not be too hard to sort out some kinda of TVR/Ford mish mash to fit! I don't know if the transmission tunnel would need some panel beating to make it fit, but most YB powered conversions use a T5 (see most cossied mk1/2 escorts). I know some use a Type-9 box but the life of the box is going to be short at best (without some kinda very uprated gear set) Anyother takers................

Just had a thought, is Ford Probe a rear driver or a mondeo chassis. If rwd, that would give me a suitable complete engine/gbox package.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

LOL What about zetec? people are extracting plenty out of em with specialists fitting em too. zetecinside.com Or How about just adopting a Twin cam 2.0 Sierra or an XR4x4? not as cool as a 2 door tina with custom engine, I admit though...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

how about the 8v sierra or 16v scorpio twink with a sierra/granada MT75? Plenty of them around for no money, and I know of at least one in a cortina without too much bother. Its a quick old pile too

Thinking about it - it was probably that car which sowed the seed that this project is coming from!

Its a quick old pile too They have an intergrated bellhouse so I think you would need an adaptor plate to get it to fit the TVR V8? But from what I have read the MT75 is a strong box, the 4wd version is standard equipemt on 4wd saffs and escort cossies so it gotta be fairly robust!
