I'm gutted to be having to do this, but my circumstances have changed over the last few months and I don't have the time or the money to finish this and I need the space.
I bought the car from here a couple of years ago. It ran but idled badly, the clutch was slipping and it got hot. It was originally a Dolomite 1850 but someone at some point has dropped the 2 litre Sprint engine in. There was also an electric fan conversion with a switch on the dash. Its a 4 speed with Overdrive.
I have pulled the engine out, fixed the source of the oil leak that caused the clutch to slip, fitted a new clutch, new waterpump, new steering rack bushes, spin-on oil filter conversion and a few other bits and pieces. I've also managed to get hold of some brand new engine mounts for it. The last time I worked on it I started to put the engine back in, so it just needs connecting up etc.
EDIT: Also, forgot to say I don't have the V5 but I do have the new keeper slip. I also have receipts for all the new parts I bought for it and I've got a pile of Dolly Mixture magazines to help with your mojo
Heres my project thread on it: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=65844&page=1
Heres a few photos:
There are also a ton of spares to go with this that John (GTVsavior) gave to me. Too much to list but in there is a brand new pair of discs, drums and pads, exhaust manifold, shocks and a spare crank and set of pistons.
The car is located at my workshop near Leighton Buzzard, Beds. It'll need trailering as the engine isn't connected up, it's just bolted in on the engine mounts.
Any questions, just reply here or give me a text/ring. Apologies if you can't get through, I have curse word signal at home.
Please someone give it a good home, I can't stand seeing it sitting in the corner of the workshop collecting dust
Cheers,
Edd
