Check this out ,.. its awesome : I've found a two DVD set of the East African Safari rally (1968-1973) ,.. the only minor issue is that it's in Japanese,.. and it'll cost you about £50... any takers? No??  |

Datsun made several short films of the EASR in the late 60's and early 70's. I have those on video and they are pretty cool. They are converted from old cine film so the quality isn't great but good enough. They were available fron the Nissan Sporting Club of Norway but I've no idea if they still are.

What I've found apparently has 3 races covered per DVD. I was looking for some footage of them when I found the 1977 video. I know that Pathe covered some of the early ones in black and white. Rather un-ethically I considered bringing them over and making copies to sell until I recouped my costs, plus a bit for time spent. But I'm never very keep on doing that kind of thing, I prefer if something is rare and unusual it stays that way (same reason I don't like replicas )... |
