it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yeah, I could have kept it for ages and dreamt of what it might be like while it slowly deteriorated and ended up good for parts only (and I've already got one like that), or could have held out for more money, but in the end I'm just happy to see it looking like this. Makes the hassle of collecting, storing it etc worthwhile.

that looks fantastic, warm glows all round to know its gone to a loving home. sometimes selling the cars you like is like parting with family, even if its the half mad uncle of the family , its still not nice to think of them getting raced or stripped.

SL, you did the main work in rescuing it from the barn. I wish I had your sense to realise that a car is sometimes better off with someone who could do something with it!

He's offered his dad's services to me and they run a garage business in Peterborough, so I don't see why he wouldn't be interested in doing more on cars they obviously like. I've asked for first refusal should he want to sell it (and likelihood is it will be a refusal by me ). Thrasher, the 'maroon one' is my other 240K that I've had for nearly nine years. Sadly it's not so good, and curently needs an exhaust sorting for it so it's not being used right now. Think the time has come to go stainless (with not too much silencing, so that straight-six can be heard properly).

Think the time has come to go stainless (with not too much silencing, so that straight-six can be heard properly). That would be excellant if you could find out for me, I need somebody who can fabricate new panels for the sills and behind the rear arches, as well as make a good pair of doors out of 5 average ones. As for the stainless exhaust mine was made by a friend of mine, unfortunatly as the car is rather low I've knocked it about a bit hence the banging on the rear axle the other night. He did a good job of it though, one box under the floor linked to a rear silencer I supplied by a single section of stainless which converlutes(?) over the rear axle, I've just got to reposition it a little now.
