Afternoon RRers,
Had a bit of a frustrating turn with insurance of late, wondered if anyone could share some ideas.
My current classic - '67 Minor 1000, which I've brought up from a heap for the last 3 years.
However now I'm very much out of full-time education, the clause on the insurance for my modern that allowed me to drive the classic ceases until I hit 25.
So what do you recommend for cheap classic insurance for a 21-year old. 2 years no claims, garaged, all that jazz?
Tis annoying that insurers assume that because you're 21 you have no concept of how to own/look after an old car. I've worked at a motor museum for 2 years and had plenty of experience driving/running/looking after old bits of metal, but the age is going to be the issue, I somewhat fear.
Anyway, help would very much be appreciated.
Cheers

can you not speak with your insurer for you daily to have it added witha limited mileage? May be the cheapest way to do it...

Retroless at the moment... but on the hunt for something old!

I'll double check the limited mileage aspect, but without massively bumping up the quote for my daily to around the 2 grand mark, I doubt it. Will check, though.

Nahp, my insurer for the daily won't insure anything over 25 years old. Brilliant. :\

Looks like Classic Line are the way to go. Managed to whack it down to about £400, which I can cope with. Cheers for the input, people.

Lancaster should be about £170 fully comp. I'm 21 and they're very good, by far the cheapest.
RH will only touch under 25's on A30/35's, FJ aren't competitive any more and Peter James only cover MG's and Triumphs for under 25's (I did try!)
