Sold I bought myself a GT Dyno compe back when I was 17 (now 30) and it has had many paint jobs and beatings in its life.... I tried to sell it several times but fate kept her with me...I'm actually very fond of the old girl now and decided I'd give her a present and tidy everything up. The last look was 'rat look' (below) I was lazy and it was a bad job, after that it sat in a shed for a year or so. ![](http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7624/p2506101836.jpg) The main idea this time was not to spend ANY MONEY and use what I already have !!!! I already had old grafitti remover, tcut ploish, some fine grit sand paper. One tin of vw black spray, one tin of primer filler (Yellow) selection of old tools So far I've had to buy GT BMX Stickers Bottle of diet coke ( half to test the chain cleaning properties...didnt work...drank the rest) 3x amber wall tyres (ebay £8.95) Might need a new chain....might spray the old one? Here is where I have got to so far with my most recent, and detailed build. I'm waiting on the amber wall tyres and just going to run a front brake, though not sure what colour cable to run? ![](http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/6127/20120803173823.jpg) ![](http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/1317/20120803174018.jpg) ![](http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7933/20120806123518.jpg) Hope you like it so far.

love BMXs and retros are the best ones, definitely a big improvement. I remember the old chrome mongoose I had to ride home for a mate, downhill and no brakes is fun ;D

No brakes was my downfall.....literally.......
I've had a few in my time but the price of the higher range is shocking, obviously they do a job but seriously better money doing something like the above, much coooler!

Looking good! I had a black and purple one of those in my youth! I managed to find my actual mk1 burner in the local tip some 15 yrs after last seeing it, hasn't changed, still has 'on a mission' stickers on the down tube. Needs a massive resto though, mags are seized and the chain is rusted solid. Also have a gold mk2 tuff burner and an 83 ammaco freestyler I keep saying I'm going to get round to doing one day. They just hang as wall art for now in my workshop. Just wish I could ride them like I used too!

You sir are a bad influence. Not only have you made me buy a BMX, you've only been and made me buy 3 of the damn things ;D . to be fair one of them is for parts only. firstly now this one does look a complete shed - and it is but its a 'for the hell of it' build. Ive bought all the parts and its cost £20 including buying the bike, paint and parts. Its purely going to be a fun to build bike, (I have made a fair bit of progress since the pic, that's just the for sale pic I got sent). And its a 1994 Ruption TX5 ![](http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af200/martin2401/retrobmx_zpsf3ef7465.jpg) and this is going to be my serious bike. Not retro but I will be using it for riding so will be having a few decent parts put on and again it was stupidly cheap. 2007 GT Vertigo (missed my old GT tour so got a replacement-thats my excuse anyway) ![](http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af200/martin2401/gt_zpsc7998304.jpg) so looks like somebody has got me back into the BMX scene.
