Hi all A friend as asked me to find out what some wheels are and I know you lot like a challange! Its in the latest Classic Ford MagazineIts a picture of a GOLD MK2 Cortina with 'GT' on the wings its on PAGE 113. he thinks they are Australian wheels. And he was wondering if anyone can tell him the.... • Make • What sizes you can get em/do they come in • What they are worth/he should pay • Where can he get some/how rare or unreare are they. Cheers in advance egg heads!

I told my mate this but he just 'phoned me' so I cant get a pic till I can get his CF mag and scan it in in work! will have one tommorow but in the meantime, if you are near the new CF mag.... Yeah, scan would help!! Sorry cant get one until 2moro

I think they are Appliance X-Wire but Alleycat did a similar wheel which were popular in the 70's and 80's but they're pretty thin on the ground now.Best bet is E-bay or searching on various forums you might strike lucky.

Alleycats AFAIK don't have that pronounced curvature to the spokes, they were flat-faced, as were the Appliance X-wire.....will have to dig out some old copies of Hot Rod & Custom and have a look at the Deals On Wheels/JBW adverts...any excuse.

I just checked the story,which is about a Ford Galaxy and saw that it is indeed an Australian car so reckon mikelmr and mad were correct with Performance Hotwire because they're Australian wheels.

They are correct, most certainly hotwires...... made by Performance Wheels in Australia, and Cheviot in New Zealand as well. Hotwires also came in a flat faced version with the more tame offsets, as well as the concaved ones seen on that Corty.

nah, I have these for the ke... but thanks anyway. They are for my Ford friend, he just likes them but wasnt sure what they where. We knew they were not Alleycats as he has some of them so thats why I asked all you lot because your all so smart!
