Shouldn't be either MOT or tax-free, given the modifications. Should be IVA'd and Q-plated.

Shouldn't be either MOT or tax-free, given the modifications. Should be IVA'd and Q-plated. The nasty side of my personality is tempted to grass him up in the hope that it's price drops to within my budget when it's relisted as a Q plated motor. I couldn't give a hoot about the plate or the faked provenance, I totally want this! Edited to say: Just noticed the build photo on eBay. That would be about the most damning piece of evidence you could have for this. Edited again to say: Would an MOT be the only time someone might summon a car for a VIC and, thus, expose this as possibly not as exempt as it appears?

The fact that this has slipped through a tiny hole in the dvla's net is something I can personally live with - it looks a great car!
I don't think 'grassing him up' would gain a great deal, but I do think a q plate would spoil it!

The fact it's slipped through the hole doesn't concern me at all, but making potential buyers aware that the net could come back and scoop them up, leaving them in a world of pain does.

Wirthdrawn from eBay, must've been sold. Dead jealous of whoever bought it, hope to see more of this in show photos or the like.

It's been at most of the major shows throughout this year and last.

i think you were right to comment dan, ringing a locost/se7en with a '30s austin ID is blatantly taking the curse word, and doesnt make it a 'hot rod', it just makes it difficult for everyone else. it qualifies for absolutely zero points on the austin ID, it would have been better off registered as the kit car(i wonder where the ID for that went.......? but thats a whole different can of worms i guess) at least it would have been on the road legitimately, albeit with the massive hardship of a test and tax every year.....
