Thought I would start a thread for posting great car build or rebuilds links or car blogs. I'll start the ball rolling with a McLaren theme. In this link :- www.metalmeet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4020 Dick Bear creates a roading going McLaren CanAM replica from scratch, starting with plans taken from photos of a 1:18 model. His metal bashing skills are AWSOME My next link www.birch.net/~petek/m6gt/nav.htm is a rebuild and not on the same level as above, but is also a McLaren replica. This M6B GT replica diary has lots of photos which makes it good. Taking his time though, like most of us Anymore links to sugest ?

Some excellent reading for work tomorrow. One day my Anglia might join the amazing rebuild status, only a fool would consider it

Yeah the guys is very good with aluminium, id hate to have a little bump in it! But the suspension is a real cause for concern, that back end setup is really not good. Cheers for the recommendation Adam, i think my name is going back to normal now as the limp is dissapearing fast J

that 1st can am replica is amazing, he's sh1t hot at metalworking, though that suspension geometry looks a bit worrying IMO even with 5 inches of travel theres going to be a lot of camber change

I will try find one on a old 56(I think) chevy known as the "Final Objective" built by long time top hot rod builder Rod Hadfield. It was powered by a Merlin V12 WWII engine and was fully engineer and street legal. Was for a long period of time( the World's most powerful road rego'd car in the world. Just 20 years worth of a build up.

Here is a real brief overview of the car, but there is a real big and detailed blog on the build up somewhere I cannot seem to find. www.rodshop.com.au/project55.htm

Yeah its definately an amazing car it was on sale on Ebay USA(more chance of selling there then oz by a long shot) for a while along with some other crazy rides Rod Hadfield built as he was going into retirement. Sadly since the new owners took over castlemaine rod shop its turned from one of the best rod shops in the world to one of the worst. And they are taking credit for all his work.
