I'm really unsure about other hidden horrors. The rest of the car seems very solid, unfortunately its solid because its all been welded before. Its had the whole lower side cut out and replaced with one from another car, its had the sill and lower rear quater replaced on the other side, and god knows how much other welding. Now, that all seems good, as its very solid, unfortunately it was all done by the same guy that bodged up the inner wings. But, all the other repairs were done with either proper repair panels, or good imported origional tin.
I guess over the next few months ill find out for sure ;D

Sorry to hear the bad news, but the previous owner of your car is a reknowned curse word, and one of the dodgiest people I've ever met. All IMO anyway.
If it's any consolation my Ghia is in a pretty bad state too, but I knew that when I bought it and so knew all the work involved. I'd also say some of the prices you're quoting are a bit OTT, unless you plan on buying brand new stuff all round. For example, I've just sold a pair of good US spec bumpers for £275, much less than you're looking to pay. If you need any help finding parts let me know, I've made some good contacts sourcing parts for mine so I may be able to help.
All the best dude.

Yeah, those prices are new heritage prices ;D I new the wings needed repairing along the front lower edge, and i new the inner wing was holed, just didnt expect the inner wings to be totally shot! It was all going to get done eventually, i just wasnt planning on doing it just yet. A guy in the states is going to quote me for panels too, but ill probably make alot of it anyway. The front end looks reasonable easy to repair, its just that everything needs to be done at the same time. Its hard to do the inner wings now and the outer wings later. Bloody coach built cars ;D

yeah, i bought it from barry, but neil is responsible for the welding (i think)
Most of its very good, its had loads of good work done, i guess he just didnt want to spend the dolla on proper panels for the inner wings.
I'm over the shock now and am at the parts gathering stage, just itching to get it fixed now.
It shall return to our roads a (solid) fire breathing monster ;D
