Up for sale on behalf of the missus…
Taxed until April 2013
MOT’d until April 2013
133k – but engine only on around 50k…see below…
Pretty much poverty spec – has power steering, keep fit windows and a tape player. Yup. Let the pics do the talking…
The good:
Long MOT & taxed.
New rear brake shoes, both handbrake cables, rear N/S hub and bearing (it’s an all-in-one that was a bit noisy so I changed it when I did the brakes and handbrake)
Recent service – oil, oil filter, air, spark plugs, fan belt
Replaced O/S wishbone bushes for last MOT
Replaced alternator last Summer, new thermostat and housing at the same time
ENGINE REPLACED approx. 50k ago (have letter from VW to prove – they clearly set the timing wrong at a cambelt change and the old engine ate itself.)
The not so good
The shell has travelled over 130k and does look like it in parts but nothing major – some paint scratches, couple of peeling patches on the plastic bumper. Quite a few stone chips in the paint, the odd car park ding. Wear to steering wheel, gearstick commensurate with age.
Exhaust has a minor blow from the front – mentioned on MOT as advisory – I’ve bandaged it up but it’ll need changing sooner or later.
Occasionally the car won’t start first time – it just makes a horrible graunchy noise for a couple of seconds. Try again and it fires into life.
Some scrote keyed the driver’s side across a couple of panels last year. I’ve machine polished it to remove as much of the damage as possible but it’s still there…
Plenty of receipts, old MOTs etc. etc. Part service history up to 80k from VW when they fitted the cambelt wrong, and the previous owner most probably went elsewhere…I can’t blame her…
She’s a good honest little runner, not going to win you any races but cheap to run, cheap to insure, a good first car. I think she cleans up really rather well, engine’s barely run in but given the faults I’m looking for £650ono. She's already been replaced, so feel free to make an offer. Car is based in Takeley, Essex just off J8 of the M11.
