Basically I sold this on eBay nearly 2 weeks ago, it reached a paltry £218 ( it owes me alot more ) in the spirit of eBay and 'no reserve' I was prepared to let it go to its new owner - however he is now messing me about with collection and I could really do with A ) some money and B ) the space back so here it is offered for sale again because as far as I'm concerned its not 'sold' until its at least had a deposit put on it.
The story is; I buy quite a few cars in to break up for parts. I was offered this with a very short Tax and Test. Picked it up and drove it home and couldn't bring myself to pull it apart. Stuck it in for an MOT and it needed a number plate bulb, a brake pipe and an exhaust hanger!
It now has an MOT until July 6th 2013. There were 3 advisories on the MOT; exhaust has a small leak of gases. NSR tyre close to legal limit and OSR tyre close to legal limit.
Gave it a wash and polish today and its cleaned up quite well. Its not immaculate by any means but is clean and presentable. Bit of rust on OSR wheelarch and a bit starting on the back of the NS sill.
Very original - still has the original Volvo tape player, full Volvo dealer service history and only cover 85k from new.
Its the 1.7i with an Auto gearbox, gearchange is nice and smooth and kickdown works as it should - quite a nippy old girl if you want her to be!
Does have a couple of small faults;
1) Aeriel doesn't come up so get no radio signal
2) Boot lifter struts are weak and sometimes struggle to hold the boot up
3) Radiator fan switch needs replacing as it doesn't seem to cut in but comes on when you turn the engine off.
3) Auxhillary belt squeaks when cold; stops squeaking once it gets warm.
4) Paint is peeling on the speedo clock so the needle sometimes gets stuck around the 30mph mark - soon pushes past it though!
I'm looking for around £400ish for her now. Not many reliable well built cars out there with 12 months MOT for that money. The tax has expired but its all insured so I can tax for a new owner at cost.
Would consider a part ex if it helps - try me!
I'm told these are cheap to insure too - would think you could get a limited mileage classic policy on it too?
Anyway here are some better pictures:
