like george the blue peter tortoise, i put the 230 away for the winter this morning. only had one incident. id moved all the stuff that was in there to the sides so i could get the car in. when i was reversing in, a bottle of atf fluid must have fallen and i drove over it. there was a loud popping sound so i pulled forward to see what was going on to find red fluid sprayed all over the floor and up one of the walls. balls. quickly threw some cloths over and proceded to put the car in. it will be in the garage till i decide what I'm going to do with it. keep or sell, hmmmm, a quandry.

My chevelle has been in hibernation for a few weeks now, In fact I brought it back out again last weekend to warm it through. Looks like a tight fit in the garage, Did you have to use the sunroof to get out?

Best thing - all those nasty salted roads can't be good! I think you should keep it, after a winter of driving the W124 I reckon you'll be wanting some tarmac-scrapin' antics come the spring! I wish my Benz's hibernation was more comfortable... it's in my mates yard exposed to the elements and salty sea air

Our fleet don't even get a rest! Have just been out hosing down my pride and joy - the downside to winter classic motoring!

Good move
MR2 is getting a rest very soon to carry on the summers work, and check its all good, sadly the garage is already taken up by sleepy long-time sleeper.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Mine will be rotated - I can never leave well enough alone! ( and to be honest none of 'em are in the condition that they need to avoid salt in a major way ;D
Mate had a garage that narrow - dad used to roll the car in and out - leaving the handbrake off! Until he forgot he'd used the 'stop marker' (a brick) under the front wheel when doing the rear cylinders! No real damage but one of the funniest things I've ever seen - an old man trying to stop a Mk1 Granada's inertia! ;D ;D ;D

Hey Tony would you like to take us through step by step how you actually got out the car once it was backed in? well jonny, here goes. and its nothing to do with the sunroof. it has to be done in the nude. once the car is in i rub myself over with baby oil so I'm nice and slippery. open the door as far as it will go then squeeze out of the gap, eugene tooms style, liberally squirting oil where ever it gets tight. ;D seriously, theres a bit more room than there looks. just a little bit of contortion and I'm out. then i stuffed some wheels and the pic-a-nic basket and springs in the gap. rich, budget christine, lmfao, it would be nice if the back arch and other scabby bits were fixed when i get it out again. dean, i don't think i need 2 large saloon cars, if it gets sold there will be another "something" to take its place. what the "something" is will depend on whether or not i get the new job ive applied for.
