Brake Caliper Rebuild

	Hi guys, I recently changed the discs and pads on my Felicia pickup. A few days after changing them I could smell burning brake pads when I got out. Went to take the wheel off the drivers side front and it was really hot. Turned the hub/disc and it moved, but was a bit stiff. No damage to the disc or pads either. I take it the caliper is not returning hence the burning smell. How hard is it to rebuild the caliper? Bits are easy enough to get hold of and aren't too expensive. I could get a brand new one but I dislike doing anything to the brakes on just one side. Cheers

	its quite easy. i did one on our lupo recently. you just have be fastidiously clean when doing it, make sure there isnt a speck of dirt in there. then be careful not to pinch the caliper seal when refitting. lubing it with a little brake fluid and not using any tools to refit(just your hands) usually prevents this.

	Calipers don't get much easier to rebuild than the Felicia units. I owned one a while back and it did the same thing. Once you've detached it from the slide pins use the foot pedal to pump the piston out before undoing the flexi. The chances are you've got a combination of sticking pins and a rusted piston. Both should clean up with a bit of work and then put back together as described by Dez. If you need new seals, dusts shields etc you can most likely get them from Bigg Red. Once you are into it it's an easy if messy job. Seeing as we like pics, here's a before and after on a set of calipers I did recently..

	Cheers guys I just went on the Bigg Red website and found the kit cheaper than I had already. They also have a guide on there ;D
