Thanks guys.
The colour looks amazing, even better in person. It is the factory hillman colour that came with the car, we just reformulated it using modern paint.
I was also worried about it looking too ott but I think I managed to pull off the looks without crossing the line.

Another update. Went down to GT Refinishers to check out the Avenger now that all the panel and paint is done. It looks amazing in real life. Pretty much bang on how I imagined it when I started, Grant and the guys at GT Refinishers have done an outstanding job making it a reality. The front will come down a bit then we drop the engine back in, and I am going to increase the front track so the wheels fill the flares a bit better. I am very please with how the back is sitting, looks incredibly tough. I am going to be getting some harder springs but probably leave it at same height at the back. All the rubbers are in the car, I will be getting some new tints after I get it back on the road. Looks awesome now with the newly painted front grille and quarter bumpers The front wheel will come a little more forward and outwards as we adjust the castor and track. The boot has been coated in POR15 then textured and sprayed black, those are all the old rubbers out of the car. Spoiler looks great all painted up

Thanks guys. It has been a long process, almost a year now. It is great being able to see my vision take shape. After so long imagining how everything will fit together it is really rewarding seeing that all my ideas worked out. I am just really glad I had a good team of guys who could take my ideas and make them in to reality.
Practically everything on this car was custom made for my Avenger, a lot of people have put heaps of time and effort in to this project, which I am extremely grateful for.
Still quite a bit of work to do but finally I can see what the finished product will look like.

Brian *PS* Love the color too! Reminds me of Mopar B5 Blue. I would love to see a Plymouth Cricket restored. They must be pretty rare now days because they only sold the Cricket for 2 years in the states. B5 Blue is cool colour. I have a few friends in the MoPar club with cars painted in B5. Speaking of MoPars. I used my big MoPar to pickup my little MoPar from GT Refinishers today. Back to Bygone Autos for the rest of the work.

Wow that looks fantastic, best looking avenger I've ever seen. Love the look of Nascar style wheels and J bolt on arches. Great tow car as well ;D

Thanks, very pleased with how it is all coming together. The NASCAR wheels and flares worked amazingly well.
My tow car is great, awesome cruiser and tons of grunt for towing.

Your Avenger is looking good, made me realise I missed mine, I owned the racer that Vanguards based their model on and looking at the post above Avenbeam might have owned that car after me Keep up the great work.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys. I have got 3 of those little Vanguards model Avenger, The racer, the Tiger and the cop car. Avengers are awesome race cars. I am just selling my 1980 Avenger race car now, have to make room for my '75 when I get it back home. Another quick update. Brand new Diesel Alternator and custom made bracket, this will provide vacuum for my brakes, I found since I switched to the side draft dellortos I had weak breaking because it only ran off one runner. This should give me better vacuum and augment my 4 pot volvo/BMW brake setup Brakes are all plumbed up now with new hoses Engine and gearbox are back in, still heaps more to do.

Hi Guys. Another update. Went down to Bygone today to continue work on getting Avenger ready. Today I polished all the rubber hoses and got the front and rear windows cleaned up and ready to go back in, removed the old rubbers, removed the old purple tint and scrapped off all the old silicon etc. Other progress Bygone has made are the wiring is almost finished, they have also put in an oil return feed for the Alternator in the sump. They have also finished off the custom alternator bracket. They also welded up my broken seat. Engine bay is starting to come together nicely. Alternator bracket all finished. Oil return feed for the Alternator My seat repaired waiting to have the old skin put back on. It looks like someone modified my seats from a set of standard Avenger seats. You can see they just welded a hoop on the top of a standard Avenger seat. They looks factory with the skin on, so I wonder if they were done by the dealer.

Brilliant, the four headlight front and hockey stick rear lights are the best Avenger look IMHO.
