Evening all  My Mini battery is compleatly dead. Wont hold any charge at all. Its the 2nd battery I've had in a year and both went the same way. There were quite cheap batterys, so I souldn't really be too suprised. Would anyone recommend one? Cheers |

sounds like the alternator is killing it Nah, nothing wrong with the alternator or any other electrics. Had them all checked at there tip-top. It is definatly the battery. |

even cheap batterys last a couple of years Never had a problem with any other cheaper batterys, but this one make (cant remember off hand) has just been curse word! |

I use two biggish Uniparts on the Range Rover (Nissan lump so 24v starting) and they are well up to the job.

If it gets used regular then even a curse word quality battery should last awhile. If you are only doing very short runs or use it less than once a week this could be making then die faster. Or if the battery is too big for the alternator.

Sorry, I should have said. I run it for about 30mins a week because its got no MOT ATM. 1st battery died while I was running it as a daily though.
Battery is the right size too PhoenixC.

Batteries defo don't like sitting around doing nowt, they like to be exercised!

stereo killed 2 normal batteries on my benz.
got a supadupamegaheavyduty tranny 2.5di one on now, been fine for over a year.
its about the size of luxembourg, so may be too big for your mini. ;D
