not the f&f kind! i think I'm in love with this kinda thing (without the rice). cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-SUPRA-RED-MANUAL-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ190054765084i wants 3.0, manual and leather. so; 1 - when were they made? 2 - what spec options are there? 3 - prices? 4 - whats a good buyers guide? 5 - whats its modding potential? 6 - what goes wrong? ta. these are rwd right, cause if they aren't it'd ruin it? cheers.

headgaskets willgo at an alarming rate.. reason not torqued down enough from factory. when it does go, get head skimmed fit new gasket and torque to 75lb/ft instead of whatever toyota originally did it.
rust can be quite bad,
you can get turbo's and non turbo's autos and manuals
sorry for not answering your questions in the right order or fully.

Generally reliable. Rust is a problem as are are head gaskets and bottom ends if they are used for drifting/track as they have oil surge issues. Yes they are RWD. I quite fancy getting one at som point. I nearly bought 3 once. 2 3.0 NA`s and one turbo all from the same bloke. He wanted 800 quid for all as I remember. Didnt really have the space at the time. Plus there were a few too many issues with them

i had one for a few monthes... a N/A manual.. i got it for 200 quid or so with about 3 monthes tax and 11 mot.. nice handling but i thought it was a bit slow.. not much torque, but ok if it is kept spinning... but then i suppose it depends on what you are used to! the turbo is prob the one to go for i reckon?! i would love another tho' and fit a smallblock v8.. would be ace fun then i think si

I think that the autos are more common than the manuals, but they are all pretty cheap unless you want a really good one!

You want the 2.5 or the Widebody. I promise you. Unfortunately we only got the 3.0, though I have seen two 2.5s for sale in the last year or so! I like those Supras but they tend to have crazy mileage now, loads of tatty old autobox non-turbo ones with 150K plus on the clock!

Nah black rocks. Ithink the Mark3 has a lot mechanically in common with the Lexus/Toyota Soarer SC300/400

while i was looking found the mkIV engine is the same in the soarer/400 so would imagine the earlier cars were the same too, 80s soarers did look a bit like a squared super-a!

Hmm, not much age difference, so which do you reckon for the win? MK3 Supra black (3.0 single turbo straight 6 manual maybe), or Soarer SC300 (2.5 twin turbo straight 6 manual maybe) or SC400 (4.0 V8 auto only).
For the next less than sensible Meatball machine. The Octavia is boringly reliable, but I know when something needs doing it will be silly money.
I reckon the soarer has aged better than then supra, but it doesn't have that "Pub landlord" look about it.

That bottom car, the grey one, that rocks. Dave, what are you up to now? Whatever it is get on with it I like these (I thought this was the Mk3, the F&TF Supra is a Mk4?) Anyway, a bit of a gold medalion image to them. I nearly bought a silver one with a blue leather interior a few years ago. 80's-tastic Liek has been said, the NA isn't all that as its fairly heavy and you'll find most are autos which isn;t a problem for me but you'll be wanting manual I guess. I bet these start edging up in value soon.
