What's the minimum thickness steel i can get away with if i'm fabricating engine mounts ?, i know most standard mounts are 5mm thick but can i get away with 3mm ?, been working with 3mm for other parts of the car and it's just easier to cut and drill (with standard 4.5 cutting disc and HSS drill bit), i imagine 5mm being a lot harder.
If using 3mm i would add gussets, double up in places (around the bolt holes etc)
