Just had a call this morning asking if i can change an oil pump on a 51 plate 1.2 16v clio.
Diagnosis, she had AA out who said the oil pump was more than likely gone, as oil light and stop engine lights on, or possibly a blocked pickup pipe.
She had someone do oil and filter and a flush yesterday which hasn't made any difference, she told me the filter dropped to bits and oil was like treacle, so i'm leaning towards a pump fault due to too thick oil/lack of servicing.
My question is whats entailed in changing an oil pump on the clio, i'm more a ford / vauxhall man and don't really touch anything french, i have had a suggestion that it's an engine out job to do the pump, is this correct.
Thanks in advance, Bryan
