Hi all, please try to help me out.
Golf driver 1991 pierburg 2e2 carb
In position 12 I have a RELAY with 1 on it.
In position 4 I have a RELAY with 18 on it.
Two questions,
1. Do I have to replace like for like relay 1 with relay 1 (some pictures on the net have different relays in different places e.g relay 53, I think this is due to different specs\models)
2.I'm not too sure what these relays do, the reason I'm fiddling is because I have high revs in the mornings (we wont go into detail in this thread) and 5mins into the journey I have been getting a quick buzz from the fusebox area, both relay 1(part throttle pre-heater?) and 18 (Autochoke) click on when I turn the ignition, once the engine is started 18 stays on, and 1 opens/turns off after a while. If I press 1's contacts together manually, the revs drop by around 100-200 revs (bringing it much more within the normal rev range I want)
What should these relays do, is this thier normal behaviour?
Sorry to waffle on.
