An apology- I intended to speak to you folks and have a propper gander at the rides. Instead i spoke to no one, as i decided to do a 1/4 mile, which i cocked up and then sat in the que for another, but it literaly took 4+ hours to do 3 runs thanks to various incidents and faffing about by pod. So by the time i messed up my 3rd launch (14.1@102 ) everyone had gone. A bit late now but - HELLO and from what i did see the turnout and cars were awsome. PS- was that hardcore who told me where to park? i did ask his user name but he mis heard me and said where to park.. I will try to meet people at the gathering...

I did the opposite, I spent so much time talking to people I hardly saw any cars and didn't see anything go up the track hahah

Haha, no worries man, did see you in the queue for most of the day, I don't think you were the only one. It would have been either Hardcore or VIP depending on if they had hair. The Porsche looked great though man, heard a few nice comments made towards it so it certainly stood out.

I ended up talking to a few people, looking at a few cars, and well, acting a little lazy TBH! I am sure the times will improve with time sumpcracker .

I was the same too, apologies if it appeared that I just parked my car and left it. I wasn't trying or intending to appear anti-social, there was just quite a bit that i wanted to see and do there.
I promise to be more sociable at the Gathering!
Top day out.

To be fair I was hoping to chat to a few peeps but I was hungover, couldn't actually find the RR stand (probably wondered past it a few times) and Elina was moaning about being cold which didn't help!
It was a good day out though, that jet car was ridiculous!

I managed to get 5 runs up the strip before 10:30, didn't bother after that because of the wait.

Claymore, your car is awesome i read the thread the day before. Love it, and made a good noise up the strip, better than the v8s imo.

i had hoped to speak to a few of you guys too but as i had my 4 year old with me i got moaned at about being bored or hungry most of the day so seemed to spend most of my time at the fair or the ice cream van although she did start to enjoy the strip towards lunch time. will try to make the gathering to meet some people properly though.

Well I commentated on at least two of your runs Mr Cracker, so the people in the crowd knew a little bit more about the car... Which looked great by the way.
Claymore had the right idea when it came to RWYB, get in early on the action. We see it at every event, minimal people sign up first thing then everybody complains about not getting enough runs later on when it gets busy.
The team work hard to keep the strip running, it's not as easy as it looks ;D

K10 looks sweet, a lot of the other RR guys gave it some love too. Is there a Reader Rides thread for it?

you still wiped the floor with my red 944 turbo!
did get to see most of the show, had a go around the time trial and 2 runs down the strip and some great cars to be seen. some of which may have seen me on the hard shoulder noth bound on the M1, my front brakes siezed and cooked, quick tap with the hammer and a steady 'don't brake' 100mls home!!

Thanks for the comments Bryn, that was nice to be recognised! And it wasnt a dig at pod staff, there was just quite a lot of stoppages for many reasons. Avenger, The times you were doing were good for a standard 944t, mine were a tad slow tbh. Sorry to hear you had brake problems, i had the same when i bought one recently, i got a sun burned fixing them too.
