Hi guys,
I brought this off here a few months ago. I needed something that was good on fuel and family sized. Also, I'd never owned a Mercedes and have always wanted one. I am selling due to having started a new job I'm stop/starting all the time and it this isn't making a tank last long.
Onto some details about it.
As the above says, it is a 1997, P reg, Mercedes C250D. Not too sure of the colour, but it's dark metallic blue. It has the 2.5litre 20v OM605 diesel engine which I have just serviced (correct grade oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter). I'm not too sure what the mileage is due to the clocks for a while were not working correctly. It is showing 176k, but I'd say it has more like 200k. Apart from one niggle which is below 1500rpm it chugs a little, it is a great, hard pulling engine. This engine will also run on cooking oil which was my plan to do. It has an automatic 4 speed gearbox. It's in good working order but the kickdown doesn't work. I think this is down to the kickdown switch so I have a used kickdown switch I will fit before the sale. The backbox has also rotted off, so is currently running without it but I have a good used backbox I will fit on tomorrow.
The bodywork is pretty straight, but there are a few rust scabs here and there. There are a fair few scratches all around it though, looks as if it's been in a few car park fights and a cat has used it as a scratching post. Doesn't look too bad from a few feet away though. Wheels are in very good condition and the tyres have plenty of meat left on them. I also will include in the sale a set of 4x alloys of the same style but in 16" as aposed to the 15" items currently fitted. But thats not all! I have a set of lowering springs as well I will include.
The interior is pretty nice. Although there are a few marks on the seats, it could be worse for near enough white fabric. Drivers seat could do with a good scrub though. It has electric front windows, electric mirrors, electric sunroof all of which work. I have recently fitted a new (used) indicator stalk as the old one was knackered. On sorting this the issue I had previously with the speedo and odometer not working has also been sorted.
Right, here's the pictures:
I'm after £500 for the car with the springs and alloys included. If you don't want those we can do a deal without them.
