hi all,
I have a set of old school Italian weber 48 dcoe's on my 1989 190e 2.5 16v.
I recently picked up a new set of 42mm chokes for them however, when they arrived, they wouldnt fit the carb body!!
I emailed the seller who swears blind they were taken from his old school Italian weber 48 dcoe's that he has had for years. He suggested that my carbs might be 45's and someone has put different covers on them???
Does anyone know where to measure on the carb to know what size they actually are? The top cover is the only part that says '48dcoe' and 'made in italy' so I guess they could have been changed?
This pic shows the choke I was using (right) and the one I just got (left). You can see the new choke is loads bigger!
The choke I was using has an external diamter of 48mm - makes sense to fit a 48dcoe? The new one has an external diameter of 55mm and wont fit in the carb body??
Here are the carbs 'in-situ!':
So, does anyone know how to measure the carbs so I can check what size they actually are?
Any help appreciated. Many thanks.
