	First off, excuse my lack of knowledge, just have a couple of questions i thought you lot might be able to answer for me. I'm looking at fitting twin webers to a lightly tuned 1.4 8v polo engine (1996 -) not sure of the engine code, i understand the basic mechanics of it all, i'm just struggling with the manifold. I understand there are vwm manifolds about, but i believe they only fit the 1.3 heads (MH, 3F etc) see below; but then again as seen in this one, webers on a 1.6 aee head. so its either, one of these items > www.dbilas-shop.com/Products/Inlet-manifold/Seat/Intake-manifold-for-VW-Polo-6N-Golf-Seat-Ibiza-Skoda-1-0-1-6-8V::1934.html or custom (cheaper option) so, are weber manifolds cast? can they be in effect cut and shut to a different bolt pattern flange? for a cheaper manifold, in the way bike carbs are knocked up (hope that makes sense) cheers, rob.

	there are some 1.4 small block engines with the same mountings as the earlier 1.3 engines, best put up the engine code and someone will be able to tell you. there are some 1.4 engines conversions kicking about that use 3f engine injection

	Doesn't the 1996 Polo have EFI? I would assume that it does, in which case I don't see why you would want to down-grade it to Webers. They might give you a small increase in peak power at full throttle due to having less restriction, but at anything less than full throttle and high rpm, the fuel injection would most probably run smoother, more efficiently and give more power and torque. Twin webers are a bit overkill for a mildly-tuned 1.4 litre engine as well, I would imagine that you will lose bottom-end torque, which in a small engine used on the street is not good.

	thanks for the replies... i knew the second one would crop up... its not being done purely out of performance (might sound daft to the older gen aha) the engine would be going in a pre 96 polo, so injection is off the cards, i don't wanna get into making looms etc etc (also, not a streetcar so to speak, or daily driven either). just wondered if a manifold solution could be made.
